Response to David and a letter from a jail.

I must agree with David and the reasons why he enjoyed MLK’s letter so much. I underlined the same quotes, as well as one of my favorites, which I have slightly reworded here, where he subtly mentions that the timing is never right for those with something to lose. It’s true about his sardonic humor, too. I feel that it was a very effective way to say, “I may be wrong…but I’m not going to tell you I’m not wrong and let you figure it out as I make you eat your words and actions.”

What a great guy! I think his writing style is eloquent, entertaining, and still very poignant. All in all, I agree with what David had to say. I must admit, though, that one of the most clever techniques was when he said the protesters were trained to take blows and not retaliate. That says so much, not only about his own character, but about the character of the entire movement. How can you fault a movement who’s premise is based on something like that? I hope everyone that the letter was addressed to felt very small and weak after reading such a powerhouse of rhetoric.
