Response to Stick in the Mud Comment

Hello all,
After a rousing and informative debate session today in class, I will say that our ability to apply rhetoric in an outside context is overwhelming and somewhat interesting.

I want to respond to some of the comments made about David's stick in the mud comment:

1- Free Speech: I think David had a right to say what he did because the Blog postings from my understanding is more of a critical thinking and application as well as interpretation of the material presented.

2- I also felt like today in class that people were a little too judgemental about his comment and were a little hard on him for his opinion. I would like to think that we are all intelligent human beings and that we each respect others. It's kinda like the golden rule.

I just felt that the way things were handled in class today with David's comment were a little aggressive on our part and after reflection I think we might have been a little too judgemental with his thoughts and opinions.

Keep on Truckin',
CA

PS- As I mentioned in class earlier, I will be judging some of the debate sections of the SC High School Forensic Speech Contest this weekend, so I won't be able to go to the "Girls" thing on Friday afternoon. Will someone please email me at connelly.anne@gmail.com and let me know that happened? I would be so thankful!!! And if you are looking for something exciting to do, pleae by all means come to the speech tournement this weekend!
