Creative Responses

First off, I want to congratulate everyone on their creative responses. I myself am one of the less creative people on this earth, no really! But I was truly impressed with the projects that were put forth by this class. I really enjoyed Jaquinna’s “American Dream” slideshow. I loved the personal touch that she gave it by using her friends as the models. I felt that it really helped to increase her ethos because she was in such close contact with people on so many different levels. I also liked the background she gave on each person; that also helped to increase her ethos. I believe the use of her friends combined with the pictures and touching stories gave the project a great deal of pathos. I really enjoyed her project and agreed with the statement that she was making.
I also enjoyed Kevin’s song. While it was somewhat silly, I feel that he made a good point. He expressed the arrogance of the United States in our belief that no one else can have pride in their country.
Also, I loved the pathos and ideas shown in Emily’s depiction of the Holocaust. It was a very moving piece that was packed with pathos. The many pictures of the Holocaust victims and the children that had been experimented on were touching.
Lastly, I really liked Dana’s distortion of reality TV. I thought that she did a wonderful job in finding examples that fit the show title; but that no one would ever want to watch. I had not really thought of the shows as compared to true reality in that way. I was really impressed by the connections that she was able to make.
Also, I wanted to apologize to everyone for not being able to show the photos in my scrapbook. We just didn’t have enough time, but if anyone is just dying to see them, I’ll be glad to show you!
