A trip to Wisteria Lane

Okay, the desperate housewives...
I have to admit right now that I have only seen part of a couple of episodes, and have not been completely sucked into the show yet. Sadly, I am a huge reality TV junkie...I know, I'm bowing my head in shame. Contendor is my newest addiction.

Anyway, the presentation on deperate housewives was very good and showed the controversy over the show very well. I thought all of the hype made by the ex-sponsors of the show was really interesting. I like the quote later in the presentation refering to Tyson and the importance of their commitment to the show, even if others find it controversial. Those parents have really been busy, they seem to protest EVERYTHING! I thought it was interesting, though, that 98% of the complaints for desperate houswives came from that one group. It says alot about the show and explains why the complaints and problems so much greater than they actually are. Come on, if guru Oprah approves of it, who would dare disagree.

There was alot of logos in the presentation. The articles that were for the show was a good contrats to all of the publicity against the show. All of the articles had good ethos, and made interesting arguments for the show - all seeming to focus on the fact that the complaints made about the show seem to imply that these people aren't even watching the show because they are complaining about things that do not even happen in the show. Like Bonnie, using the parents organization brought in some pathos. Some of the thinsg associated with the show had some pathos aswell, such as the married women sleeping with her teenage gardener, although it happens (ALOT), it may upset some people.

Overall, great presentation. I will have to sit down on Sunday and watch the show - see all the racy stuff I've been missing this whole time!
