Thanks for the feedback... a point of clarification

Hello all-
Thank you for the feedback on our PowerPoint presentation from last Thursday. David and I both wanted to do something that was relevant and that was something fun and interesting at the same time.
After looking at Mr. Stern's speech, I agree with the posts that he acted like he was not interested in his delivery of the speech and was something that he had to do. I do give him some props because I don't know how I would have handled such a difficult situation.
One thing I wanted to clear up was our point about the cannons of rhetoric. We misspoke and said that logos, ethos, and pathos were cannons of rhetoric when they are not. Here is the correct definition of the cannons of rhetoric:

•Invention- conceptualization- assigning meaning to data through interpretation
•Arrangement- the process of organizing symbols and arranging information in light of the relationships among the people, symbols, and context involved.
•Style- concerns all of the considerations involved in the presentation of those symbols
•Delivery- the embodiment of symbols in some physical form, encompassing the range of options from nonverbals to talk to writing to mediated messages.
•Memory- no longer just memorizing speeches, refers to larger reservoirs of cultural memory as well as to process of perception that affect how we retain and process information.

Hope that clears some things up!!! Have a good week!
