Response to Jaquinna

I agree with Jaquinna that Dr. King uses rhetoric to make his points even stronger in "Letter." As she mentioned, instead of "hoopla" and writing to anger the masses, Dr. King also uses statistics rhetorical theory, and examples to illistrate his point. Jaquinna also employs examples of logos, pathos, and ethos when discussing Dr. King's letter because these recognizable forms of rhetoric add dimension, clarity, understanding, and depth to the piece. Rhetoric in the real world can easily take the form of the speech, a proposal, or the coversations and debate of opposing political leaders. As we learned in class, some things cannot be evaluated on a win-lose scale, but who makes and supports the better arguement. In closing, I believe that Jaquinna did a great job at identifing logos, ethos, and pathos in Dr. King's work.
