the presentations keep on rolling...

First of all, kudos to all the presentations who have gone so far. I've learned something new every class and that to me is good rhetorical learning :)
I never realized that almost all of the books that i grew up with were so offensive to the book world. I was really disappointed to see that authors like Maya Angelou made the cut as well. It's sad to know that many school kids across American will not have the opportunity to learn from these people and their characters and that their parents are not confident enough in their parenting skills and the integrity of their children to trust their judgement. Teachers should be educated enough to present the information in these books objectively while acknowledging and pointing out their moral fallability.
My favorite pages of Newsweek every week are the political cartoons. These seem to fill many gaps in the political process and give many hilarious jabs on our nation's leaders. It is interesting to note that our country has used cartoons to illustrate (literally) the opinions of the people.
I also enjoed Jaquinna's presentation on the judicial system in South Carolina. It is important that we have people who are willing to sacrifice in hopes of changing the system and adding to the advancement of the system.
I hope that the work of the people who have gone will rub off on me as I give mine!
